DARRA TO SPRINGFIELD
As part of the award-winning TrackStar Alliance, Thiess developed a smarter, fully-integrated transport design option that has delivered $171 million in taxpayer savings on this vital infrastructure project. Train services commenced on the corridor in December 2013, giving Springfield residents their first access to Queensland Rail’s network.
The two-stage Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor became the first integrated rail and road project for the region. Stage 2, Richlands to Springfield, extended the rail corridor with 9.5 kilometres of dual rail formation, two new stations, seven new rail bridges and urban design
GLH performed pivotal tasks such as laying sleepers, placing rail, loading ballast trains, transporting Rail Equipment, and placing signal infrastructure.
