SEQ STABLING YARD

When Queensland Rail partnered with The Department of Transport and Main Roads to develop a number of new stabling facilities, GLH was contracted by CPB Rail to build the tracks for all 4 Stabling Yards, and performed the following pivotal tasks:

• Walkways
• Drilling mast holes
• Laying sleepers, placing rail, placing ballast,
• Boxing up, moving concrete and materials, trenching, drainage, bond wires, stoppers
• Assisting welders with IRJ’s and closure rails, moving rail,
• Corrections

The program was required to accommodate the expansion of the Citytrain network fleet and saw $116 million dedicated as part of the New Generation Rollingstock project.
